Angelo Bummer

Angelo Bummer lives with his wife and daughter in the San Francisco Bay Area and is a dual citizen of Italy and the United States. He works as a professor for the English department and Umoja Community at Las Positas College, where he also teaches Italian Conversation. He grew up in East San Jose, California where he worked as an agricultural laborer as a teen and young adult. In 2010, he earned an M.A. in World and Comparative Literature for his study of Italian and Argentine literature. In 2018, he completed a fellowship with Stanford Global Studies and the Educational Partnership for Internationalizing Curriculum. His fellowship project focused on designing community college curriculum that showcases contemporary Italian literature from authors of African descent.
