Frances Curcio

     Dr. Frances R. Curcio has taught mathematics and has prepared elementary and secondary mathematics teachers at various colleges in the New York Metropolitan area. As a member of the faculty at Queens College of the City University of New York for more than 30 years, she is currently Professor Emerita. She is the author, co-author, and editor of numerous books and scholarly articles. A former member of the Board of Directors of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Fran has earned an international reputation in mathematics education, conducting study tours for mathematics teachers in many countries throughout the world. Her current interests are in Italian history and Italian/American literature. She invested more than 12 years researching, writing, and documenting her dear immigrant grandfather’s story, the results of which are revealed in her recently published book, Mio Nonno Totore and the American Dream, commemorating his life fifty years after his death.
