     Joseph Sebastian Soccoa was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 3rd, 1991. At the age of 13, Joe lost his mother when she lost her battle with breast cancer. He learned a very valuable lesson that day; never give up on his dreams. Driven with this newfound motivation, Joe attended Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY for three years. He  graduate from Five Towns College in May of 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication - broadcasting, with a minor in journalism. While attending Five Towns College, he hosted a sports talk radio show every week for the duration of his time there. He also contributed to the school newspaper. Joe Soccoa also began writing for the Italian-American, New York-based magazine, L’Idea. Often times, he headlined the magazine’s English section. He has interviewed many athletes including racing great, Mario Andretti. For his efforts on this particular article, he was awarded the cover page for issue 49 released in March of 2012. Joe currently serves as the play-by-play voice for the New York Apple Core Hockey team in Long Beach, NY. Joe has many ambitions in life, none greater than becoming a broadcaster for the sports world. This book marks the first for Joe Soccoa, and the beginning of his own series of books with Idea Press, Sports On The Brain. He plans to cover all the major sports including hockey, basketball and football.
