Lucia Antonucci always enjoyed writing and throughout her life she kept a journal containing her works of short stories and poetry. In 2013, when Lucia was age 83, her grandson decided to publish some of her works. This sparked Lucia to write more consistently. Fast forward to 2020, Lucia, now age 90, is an accomplished author of five books, where she continues to earn five-star ratings on Amazon.com. Lucia gains inspiration from her life experiences, her strong faith and her Italian heritage. She has won the International Library of Poetry and Poetry.com’s Editor’s Choice Award for her poem entitled, “Park Angel,” which was published in The Best Poems and Poets. Her vignettes and poetry have also appeared in various newspapers and church publications throughout New York City. In addition to writing, Lucia enjoys cooking, speaks Italian fluently and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
