Maria Massimi

Maria Massimi holds a B.A. in French Literature from Marymount College, Certificat d’Etudes from Lausanne, Switzerland, an M.A. in Curriculum from Columbia University, and an M.A. in Administration from College of New Rochelle.  Department Head of a public high school, she taught French, Italian, Spanish, with a knowledge of Latin. She served as advisor to clubs, trips, and honor societies; had coordinated a Sardinian middle school exchange program and headed the first American group to travel throughout that island, hosted by dignitaries and school officials there. The group was invited to the NATO base, Secret Service School, numerous sites, and to Caprera.

     Upon retirement, she served as supervisor and mentor to new teachers, taught on a college level and in the Bronxville Schools. Founder of a private high school for girls, she served as its first principal. A first-generation born Italian American, she resides in Larchmont, N.Y. with her husband.
