Marylouise Serrato

Marylouise Serrato (nee Musso) was born and raised in San Francisco in an Italian American family.  Her father’s family is from Piemonte and her mother’s family from Friuli. She studied marketing at University and worked for 10 years in public relations and advertising in San Francisco prior to moving overseas in 1994 first to Brussels, Belgium and then Geneva, Switzerland where she and her husband raised their three children.  While in Geneva, Marylouise taught English for Berlitz and ran a global non-profit, advocacy organization, American Citizens Abroad. Marylouise is currently the Executive Director of Americans Citizens Abroad.  Returning to the United States in 2012 Marylouise splits her time between Europe (Switzerland/Italy) and the US.   She currently resides in Washington, DC where she dapples in writing and continues to advocate on behalf of millions of Americans living and working overseas.
